Bailey Avenue Health Education Foundation exists to help improve health care for the medically underserved.  BAHEF serves:

  • as a bridge in communication between residents of the Jackson area and the many health and social service providers
  • assists with solving the multiple social issues that affect the well-being of the whole person, family and community
  • leadership training that enables the people to direct their own health initiatives.

Nurses Kay Jones, Lorene Nevels and Jonie Strachan provide blood pressure screening every Monday during our Food Pantry distribution hours.  They also coordinate speakers for our quarterly Community Luncheons and work as liaison with a team from St. Dominic Health Services that comes to the Food Pantry distribution day once a month.
