Bailey Avenue Health Education Foundation exists to help improve health care for the medically underserved.  BAHEF serves:

  • as a bridge in communication between residents of the Jackson area and the many health and social service providers
  • assists with solving the multiple social issues that affect the well-being of the whole person, family and community
  • leadership training that enables the people to direct their own health initiatives.
  •      Nurses Kay Jones, Melody Boyd, Lorene Nevels  provide blood pressure screening every Tuesday during our Food Pantry distribution hours.  
  •      Dr. Buford Yerger comes to offer his help with acquiring prescription medications.

  •      BAHEF also coordinates speakers for our quarterly Community Luncheons and the nurses work as liaison with a teams of visiting nurses who come to the Food Pantry distribution day periodically.
