The greater United Methodist Church has adopted the phrase “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors.” We at Christ in Culture take that phrase seriously, being intentionally inclusive and welcoming.

Greatest Commandment

“Master, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” He answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind. That is the greatest commandment. It comes first. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. Everything in the Law and the prophets hangs on these two commandments.” Matthew 22: 36-40

Our Commitment

Christ in Culture is committed to creating a space where all may come to grow in the Spirit through  fellowship and sharing of our authentic selves. We are committed to providing a safe place where all may have the opportunity to experience God’s love and be supported through both celebrations and difficulties.

Our Stance as an Inclusive Community

Christ in Culture class at Wells ChurchChrist in Culture affirms that through God’s redeeming love for all, we are one in Christ. We respect the inherent and valuable contributions each member makes to the Body of Christ. We celebrate our diversity and recognize the sacred worth and dignity of all persons regardless of gender, race, age, culture, religious or ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic circumstance, educational background, family configuration, and difference in ability. As we journey toward wholeness we welcome all who know joy through their faith journey, all who are seeking understanding, knowledge, and joy through faith, and all who have known the pain of exclusion and discrimination within the church. Therefore, we welcome all persons to full participation in Christ in Culture.

As an Inclusive Community, we believe that we are being reconciled to God and to one another.
