Who We Are
A PLACE FOR GRACE: Wells Church is a loving, caring, and sharing United Methodist community of faith in the heart of Jackson. Rooted in more than 100 years of ministry, we believe the church is not simply a building—it is a people who follow Jesus by loving God, loving our neighbors, and serving our community.
We want to be warm, real, and open. We laugh and cry together. We know that reconciliation and forgiveness happen, because they happen to us and to those who come to share themselves with us. Wells Church is a place of grace. We are a kind of experiment, a hope, a sharing and growing place.
Those who come here will note many different styles of dress, as wells as a number of kinds of music and worship styles. We include tradition and innovation in our life together.
We welcome everyone to come as you are, wherever you are on your journey of faith. At Wells, you’ll find meaningful worship, genuine relationships, opportunities to serve, and a place where you can grow in faith and discover that you are deeply loved by God.

A PLACE TO SERVE: Serving others is at the heart of who we are at Wells Church. One of the ways we live out our faith is by putting love into action. Our Tuesday Ministries help provide food and practical support to our neighbors in need. We also welcome people in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction with a special Sunday recovery class and Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings held on our campus during the week.
Each September, Wells Church hosts WellsFest, an alcohol-free, family-friendly music festival that brings the Jackson community together for a day of music, fun, and friendship. All proceeds benefit a local nonprofit organization selected by the church each year. Over the years, WellsFest has provided more than $1.5 million to help others, which strengthens and supports our community.
One way we serve God is by serving others. There is a place for you here, and there is a place for you to serve. Come join us!
A PLACE TO GROW: We believe that discipleship begins with relationship. Wells Church offers a place to connect with others and grow in a shared journey of faith. We are made to be in community with others. Despite our differences and our brokenness, we choose to worship together and to build community on a foundation of shared faith, a shared desire to love God and our neighbor, and a shared seeking of Christ. Opportunities for friendship and discipleship are available for all ages and interests.
